Presentation And Discussion Time

Plenary Lectures: 30 minutes including discussion time.
Oral Presentations: 20 minutes including discussion time.

Note: Speakers are requested to stay within these time frames. Session Chairs will be instructed to enforce the same.


Recommended Method For Your Presentation

Please bring your presentation on a Windows readable USB flash drive or CD-ROM and load it on one of the conference’ computers in the speakers’ ready room, at least 2 hour before the start of the session.
Please note that the conference computers in the session halls are being supplied with Office 2007 (at least).
When building your presentation, use standard fonts (e.g., Times Roman, Helvetica, Arial, New Times Roman), basic fonts are included on the session room PCs but if an unusual font is used it may not translate.
Include in the same folder as your presentation, any external files utilized, e.g. movie files. Copy the entire folder to the USB flash drive or CD ROM..
Test your presentation on a separate PC compatible computer to insure fonts are standard and components such as movies are included rather than merely linked in your presentation.
Review these specifications when preparing your presentation.
We recommend that you bring a backup presentation format to cover the possibility of luggage loss, theft, and/or incompatibility.

Important Note For Macintosh Users

In order to use MAC presentations on a PC compatible computer please note that you need to prepare it according to the instructions below, before bringing it to the Speakers' Ready Room:
Please use a common font, such as Arial, Times New Roman, Verdana etc. (special fonts might be changed to a default font on a PowerPoint based PC). Please insert pictures as JPG files (and not TIF, PNG or PICT - these images will not be visible on a PowerPoint based PC).
Use a common movie format, such as AVI and WMV (MOV files from QuickTime will not be visible on a PowerPoint based PC). Alternatively you may use your own Macintosh laptop computer.

Laptops

You do not need to bring your own laptop to the meeting room. However, there will be connections available for presenters to use their own laptops. Speakers using their own laptops must have a VGA HD15pin female output. Some laptops have special video output cables to get to the HD15pin required for connecting to external monitors and data projectors. If this cable is not with the laptop being used there is no way to connect to a Data Projector. The laptop output resolution should be no more then XGA (1024x768). The native resolution on the data projectors is 1024x768 so higher resolutions will force the data projector into a compression mode possibly losing some information or not projecting.
Session rooms do not have Internet access.
Please note that VHS Video projection, 35 mm’ slide projection and Overhead projection (projection of transparencies) will not be available.

2. Instructions For Poster Presentation

Poster Preparation

Posters will be displayed on 90 cm wide by 180 cm high board. The maximum size for poster is 90 cm wide by 120 cm high, including the title, authors, and affiliations. Please do not exceed this size. Standard A0 size (841mm wide x 1189mm high) (portrait format) is recommended.

Poster Presentation Schedule

Poster Session : October 24-25

Poster viewing and display are 9:30-16:00. Each presenter will be allocated one numbered board. Your board number is the numerical listing to your abstract number. Presenters must hang their posters no later than 11:30 in the morning on Oct 24-25.
Please do not leave belongings, poster containers, or any materials under the poster boards or in the poster area. The local organization committee is not responsible for articles left in the poster area.

Removing Your Poster Material

Material should be removed before 16:00. If posters are not removed within the time for dismantling, your poster will be removed and disposed of.

Poster Award Competition For Trainees (Students, Postdoctoral Fellows, Residents)

Please let us know by August 31 (email: taiwansportnutrition@gmail.com), if you qualify and wish to participate in the competition. Presentation to the judges will be 13:30-14:30 on Oct 24 and 25.
